In my last post, I provided an overview of what a dental consultant is and what we can do for you. I want to expand on that and give you an idea of what to expect during our first office visit.
As I previously mentioned, before we arrive for our initial visit, we will meet with you in person or schedule a phone call to discuss your specific concerns and answer any questions you may have.
The first step… We follow the initial conversation with an introduction to the team and a questionnaire for them to complete. This questionnaire is so important in the process as it provides valuable information and insight into the inner workings of the practice. We typically find the team’s answers are very honest and forthright. This exercise is an opportunity for the team to candidly express their ideas and opinions, even more so than if they were speaking to you, their employer.
From our experience, we find the team is very aware of which systems are working and which systems are failing.
The next step…After a careful review of the information received from the team, it is time for the first in-office visit. Our team will spend time with your team, gathering information and observing how they work and interact with each other and with clients. Our goal during this visit is to not make the team feel like they are being watched but for them to behave and interact as they would on any normal day. At this time we will also evaluate the health of your business by gathering data, reviewing numbers and assessing the current systems. All the while keeping in mind your main concern and reason for calling us.
After the details have been gathered, we then spend time in our office creating an incredibly detailed report of our findings. This report will be presented to you along with a plan of action for your practice.
The plan…Our plan for each of the practices and teams we work with is always tailored to your needs and formulated from the details gathered from our initial discussion right through to the completion of our first visit in your practice.
After the plan has been made, we get to work. Our work typically includes weekly in-office visits, team meetings, and the introduction and implementation of systems. We work with the team as a whole or one-on-one when needed. Each office we work with is unique and our plan is customized to fit your specific needs. Some client’s needs are specific, such as setting up an X-ray Quality Assurance Program or creating office specific manuals.
In conclusion… All dental practices are unique and present with their own set of goals. Our role is to provide a customized action plan to help achieve those objectives. All it takes to get started is a phone call.
A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dreams come true.
